Synaptics fingerprint sensors, TDDI technology integrated into Huawei smartphones

  • Author:HF SECURITY
  • Release on:2017-10-20
synaptics Incorporated announced its Natural ID fingerprint sensors and its touch and display driver integration (TDDI) technology have been integrated into several recently released Huawei smartphones.
Huawei said it chose Synaptics for its industry-leading capacitive-based performance, innovation, and time-to-market advantage.
Synaptics Natural ID fingerprint sensors are featured on the new Huawei Honor 7X and the Maimang 6, which adds to the previously announced sensors selected for the Huawei Honor 6C, Honor 6A, Nova 2 and Nova 2 Plus smartphones.
Developed by Synaptics, Synaptics TouchView TDDI is featured on Huawei’s Honor 6A, Honor 9, Honor V10, Nova 2, Nova 2 Plus, Nova 3 Plus, Mate 9, P10, and P11 smartphones.
Three of the Huawei models feature both TouchView and Natural ID including Honor 6A, Nova 2 and the Nova 2 Plus.
Synaptics’ high-performance Natural ID fingerprint sensors are available with SentryPoint technology, offering OEMs a range of highly secure authentication features.
These features include match-in-sensor technology, Quantum Matcher with PurePrint anti-spoof technology, and SecureLink 256-bit AES encryption with TLS 1.2 secure communication, and MultiMatch, a multi-factor fusion engine that combines scores from both fingerprint and facial scans.
Synaptics TouchView TDDI combines touchscreen controller with display driver IC (DDIC) technologies in a single chip.
According to Synaptics, the TDDI technology enables faster time-to-market, lower overall system cost, a simplified supply chain, thinner devices, brighter displays and borderless designs.
This summer it was reported that Synaptics Natural ID fingerprint sensors with integrated SentryPoint security software are featured in the newest PQI My Lockey USB dongles.
