ID4Africa is a multi-stakeholder movement that promotes the transparent and responsible adoption of digital identity in the service of development in Africa.
The aim is to:
Share experience and establish real world best practices that set the correct expectations for what is involved in launching and sustaining successful identity programs.
Transform individual expertise and experience into sustainable and collective knowledge for the benefit of the identity community in Africa.
// Motivation
ID4Africa was motivated by the need to promote legal identity for all in Africa (consistent with Sustainable Development Goal 16.9) and to empower individuals to claim their rights and to benefit from the fruits of development.
// Birth of a movement
True to our Pan African commitment, the Annual Meeting of the ID4Africa movement is held in a different African country each year. The inaugural event was held in Tanzania, followed by a milestone event in Rwanda that demonstrated the strength and sustainability of the movement, and we are now looking forward to an even more impactful Annual Meeting on April 26-28, 2017 in Namibia.
This year in Namibia, our customer, Face technologies from South Africa, will take our latest Android terminal which can read fingerprint and driver liscence to attend the fair. We will see how popular it is!
